When disasters strike, borders don’t matter — and neither should our response. That’s why Caraș-Severin County Council, the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations – ISU “Semenic”, the City of Vršac, and the Caraș-Severin County Gendarmerie Inspectorate are working together to build a safer, more resilient future through the project “Smart Cross-border Resilience In Emergency Situations”.
What’s at the heart of the project?
Digital tools and equipment for faster, smarter emergency response;
A Smart Cross-border Center for Emergency Situations in Caraș-Severin — a hub for community awareness and crisis coordination;
ISU “Semenic” will strengthen safety through investments in CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear) and firefighting equipment;
CaraČ™-Severin Gendarmerie will acquire hybrid off-road vehicles and ATVs for use in protected and hard-to-reach areas;
In Serbia, the City of Vršac will invest in equipment to respond to storms, floods, and wildfires.
“This project continues our institution’s previous efforts and aims to reduce response time in emergency situations. Beyond the latest equipment that will be provided to the four partners, a dedicated center will be established at the Caraș-Severin County Council, which the County Emergency Committee will be able to use for managing emergencies,” said Cristian Bîtea, Project Manager, Caraș-Severin County Council.
From cutting-edge gear to youth training and citizen engagement, this project is all about being ready, informed, and united. Together, we’re building a community that is stronger, smarter, and better prepared.
Project co-funded by the European Union.
