The Romanian and Serbian Banat share the same air. That’s why we are joining forces in a cross-border project to monitor and improve air quality in this historically and culturally connected area.
Within the #AirMON project, we are developing a cross-border air monitoring network consisting of:
✔️ a mobile, real-time monitoring system
✔️ a fixed system for sampling and analysing key pollutants
These tools will help us to:
🔹 identify the true sources of air pollution (not only traffic and industry, but also household heating and agricultural activities);
🔹 provide relevant data to authorities and communities;
🔹 raise awareness among both citizens and decision-makers.
📚 The project also places a strong emphasis on education and community engagement. We believe that only an informed and involved public can help create a cleaner, healthier future.
🌱 The CROSS-BORDER AMBIENT AIR MONITORING NETWORK (RORS 00090) is implemented by:
🔹 Regional Development Agency South Banat (Serbia)
🔹 University of Life Sciences “King Mihai I” from Timișoara (Romania)
🔹 Institute for Public Health Pančevo (Serbia)
This project is co-funded by the European Union through the Interreg IPA Romania–Serbia Programme.
🌍 Air knows no borders. Neither does our cooperation!
