From cold winters to hot summers, border security comes first.

Every day, border officers work in all conditions to keep the border safe – for travellers, for local communities, and for people living in Romania, Serbia, and across the European Union.

Through the Interreg IPA Romania-Serbia Programme, we support these efforts by investing in infrastructure, equipment, and cooperation. Border facilities are being improved in locations such as Vârciorova and Moldova Nouă (Romania), while new border surveillance solutions are being developed in Serbia.

These ongoing investments help Romanian and Serbian border authorities work together more effectively, improving coordination, preparedness, and reliability in border management.
