Two new patrol boats for a safer Romanian–Serbian Danube border

The Romanian Police has received two modern patrol and intervention boats as a result of the strategic importance project ”Safer Climate within the Romanian-Serbian Border Area”, co-funded by the European Union through the Interreg IPA Romania–Serbia Programme. 🇪🇺🇷🇴🇷🇸

The new boats will strengthen operational capacity along the Danube, enabling faster response and intervention, more effective patrol missions and improved safety of navigation. They will also support joint efforts to prevent and combat cross-border crime and contribute to protecting the EU’s external border.

By investing in modern equipment and stronger cooperation between Romanian and Serbian law enforcement authorities, Interreg turns cross-border cooperation into concrete results for safer communities.

The two boats will be operated by the Romanian Transport Police structures in Mehedinți County, covering approximately 194 km of the Danube along the border with Serbia.
