Volunteer firefighters play a vital role in protecting lives and responding when emergencies occur. Through PREVENT, Săcălaz Commune (Romania) and the Volunteer Firefighting Association Orom (Serbia) are working together to strengthen disaster preparedness across the border.

The project will train 60 volunteer firefighters through local training sessions and joint practical exercises, helping them respond more effectively in emergencies. At the same time, awareness campaigns for parents and school pupils will promote accident prevention and essential first aid skills, while the procurement of professional firefighting equipment will further strengthen local response capacities.

By investing in people, prevention and cross-border cooperation, PREVENT is helping build more resilient communities prepared to face future challenges.
