One example of this transformation is taking shape in Giroc, where existing public infrastructure is being redesigned to use energy and natural resources more responsibly.
The Eco-Administration project will bring together several sustainable solutions:
☀️ Renewable energy: 16 photovoltaic panels, with a total installed capacity of 6.4 kWp.
🌡️ Energy efficiency: improved insulation, a heat pump for heating and cooling, LED lighting and smart energy management systems.
💧 Smarter water use: rainwater collected in a 15 m³ underground tank and reused for watering green spaces.
🌿 More nature: a green façade and over 340 m² of landscaped green areas.
Through cross-border cooperation, Giroc and its partners, Gottlob (Romania) and Veliko Gradište (Serbia), are working towards a shared vision of climate-smart local development.
Three communities. One shared commitment to climate-smart local development!
🇪🇺 The Eco-Administration project (RORS00344) has a total budget of €3.28 million, with 85% co-financing from the European Union through the Interreg IPA Romania–Serbia Programme.
