Minimally invasive and robotic surgery are becoming the modern standard for treating a wide range of medical conditions. However, access to high-quality training remains limited in both Romania and Serbia. To bridge this gap, the “Victor Babeș” University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Timișoara and the Health Center “Sveti Luka” in Smederevo have launched the cross-border project EduCare.
EduCare aims to create equal, modern training opportunities through a shared e-learning platform, online training events and joint educational activities. The project also includes investments in state-of-the-art equipment to support practical, hands-on learning. More than 500 users will benefit from the e-learning platform, while 150 participants will take part in practical courses in minimally invasive surgical techniques.
The project is co-funded by the European Union through the Interreg IPA Romania-Serbia Programme, supporting sustainable development and cross-border cooperation for a stronger, healthier region.
