In the unique landscape of Deliblatska Peščara, firefighters, forestry experts, and local partners from Romania and Serbia came together for a hands-on field exercise focused on forest fire prevention and response.
Over the course of three intensive days, teams worked side by side, sharing knowledge, testing intervention techniques, and strengthening coordination in real-life scenarios. From planning and simulation to active field response, the exercise highlighted how cooperation can turn challenges into shared solutions.
Beyond the technical training, the activity built something equally important: trust. Because when emergencies cross borders, our response must do the same.
This is what cooperation looks like in practice: people, institutions, and communities united to better protect natural areas and reduce risks for the future.
Working together makes us better prepared.
