For 15 years, Interreg Cooperation Day has brought people together to celebrate what we can achieve by working across borders.
In 2026, Interreg programmes across Europe are marking this milestone with local events. The Interreg IPA Romania-Serbia Programme is joining the celebration in Orom, Serbia.
This year, our Interreg Cooperation Day will focus on fire prevention, emergency response and community resilience, through live demonstrations, practical training and inspiring stories from Interreg-supported projects.
The choice of Orom is especially meaningful. Following the recent wildfires in Serbia, the importance of strong local response capacities and cooperation between professional and volunteer firefighters has once again become clear. During these fires, local crews also used firefighting equipment co-funded by the European Union through the Interreg IPA Romania-Serbia Programme.
On 24 September, join us in celebrating 15 years of Interreg Cooperation Day.
