In a joint effort to assess the impact of mining activities on the environment and to develop coordinated actions for monitoring and reducing related risks in the Romanian–Serbian border area, the Politehnica University of Timișoara hosted an international workshop bringing together environmental experts, academics, and researchers from both countries.

The event was part of the project “ERA-MIN: Environmental risk assessment of mining activities caused by tailings deposits in the Romania–Serbia cross-border area,” co-funded by the European Union through the Interreg IPA Romania–Serbia Programme.
