35 Years of Interreg – Celebrating Cooperation Without Borders!

Cross-border cooperation is one of the strongest symbols of European solidarity – and this year we celebrate it in a very special way.

On 30 September 2025, we invite you to celebrate Interreg Cooperation Day. Together, we’ll look back at the achievements of Romanian-Serbian projects and confer cooperation diplomas to those that have built bridges between our communities – from improving infrastructure and protecting the environment to creating better opportunities for people on both sides of the border.

Our celebration continues on 1 October with a symbolic journey along the Bega Canal, including a visit to the newly reopened hydrotechnical node at Sânmihaiu Român – a success story made possible through Romanian-Serbian cross-border cooperation.

This year is especially meaningful: we mark 35 years of Interreg – 35 years of building connections, sharing experiences, and shaping a better future together.

Join us at Timiș County Council in Timișoara on 30 September at 12:00 PM to celebrate not only the past, but also the bright future of Romanian-Serbian cooperation!
